Hallo boys...
I'm part of this forum since a few days and I'm gradually discovering every part of it... I cannot make any promise 'cause I don't know when the movie could be release and when you plan to present it in the several parts of Europe (I'm taking my graduation in october, so I'm pretty busy 'till that time), but I've got a proposal...
I live in Venice and I know it as my pockets. Wouldn't be nice for you to visit the church in (front of) which they shooted Last Crusade? Wouldn't be nice to organize a trip in Venice for the launch of the movie? I think I could find some spaces to make a presentation or something similar. Wouldn't be a good presentation for the movie to have a photographic service of the cast and the production crew just where they shoot Indiana Jones 3? Could be nice even just have a dinner in Venice and a trip in the wherabouts of Last Crusade set, what do you think? _________________ "Genius of the Restoration, aid our resuscitation!" |

Oh, I was almost forgetting... I've worked for 2 years for a classical music company in Palazzo Ducale (Doge's Palace), in San Marco Square, and the Palace itself has got a part that's exclusively reserved for an Artistic Circle... there they organize dinners, presentations of expositions, exhibitions, theatre plays, concerts... I used to be a member now I'm not any more, so I don't know if it would be that easy to have the space for us, but, anyway, I came to know a lot of actors, musicians and we're very close friends, I'm sure they'll be glad to help and provide us a space. Consider that Venice is full of Palaces and Villas that are used for such purposes and they don't cost very much! (Of course if i can get it for free it's better! ).
I trust you'll have some good audience too, because I've got a lot of friends here that are or green filmakers or theatre actors (some pretty good indeed! One is the director of a recitation school just in Venice) and almost all love Indy... Just let me know. _________________ "Genius of the Restoration, aid our resuscitation!" |

I know! We'll sure get in touch!
Erri Wan, have you read this post? If the "producers" are coming in Italy would be bice to organize a tour from Venice to Florence, no? Two precious historical cities! _________________ "Genius of the Restoration, aid our resuscitation!" |

Here I am! Sorry for being a bit distracted in these last weeks. Too busy. About Venice it sounds a good idea. If we do them in the same week, people from the cast and crew of the film could visit both of the cities before going back home.
About Florence I already found a place to show the film, the audiance (will be mostly american and british) and places where all the guests can stay for very good prices.
Tell me your plans about a possible screening in Venice. I would be interested to know where we could show the movie there, I don't know Venice very much (I've been there only 2 times long time ago... and all the times that church/library was closed ) so I'm afraid that I will be just a guest like the others _________________

Well as I told you, I know this big Palace, part of Palazzo Ducale in S.Marco Square, where there's a big hall for recitals, concerts and so... I used to organize classical concerts and the administration of the Artistic Circle (that's the association that keeps the Palace now) know me very well, the unique problem may be that I'm not a member anymore. So they can have some problem in giving us the room. A second place is that the room could be occupied for others artistic activities... if you look for "Palazzo delle Prigioni" in google, you can find a few pictures of the palace. I prefere do not post them to avoid problems of copyright...
Anyway, if it shouldn't be there I know a lot of people that could suggest me a space such as beautiful. A friend of mine is the director of a school of recitation and they use as school the old house (payin' a rent per hour) of the famous venecian comedy writer Carlo Goldoni (XVIII century). I believe that if we could pay the rent they'll give us the space.
And, if the fate doesn't wan't us to present the movie in Venice, I know a congress center of the Municipality of Venice in Mestre (the part of Venice with cars and trains!Just 10 minutes from the old Venice) that they rent for a few euros per hour. I know too a theatre hold by a parish, near my house. I believe that payin a rent they will give us the theatre, but maybe it's too big for our purposes. Anyway, just let me know the period in which the staff is coming and I'll organize everything... _________________ "Genius of the Restoration, aid our resuscitation!" |

it's Ken that should let us know the period... by now there is no release date unfortunately.
The idea of doing it in Mestre is good aswell, it would give us the chance also to go to Venice by boat like Indy did and I guess everything is cheaper even if just 10 minutes from the center. Well, we have time for planning it properly. Good that we have two possibilities for Italy. I felt like a lonely pioneer here before you came! _________________

Eheh! I understand you, even because I believe that Indy fans here in Italy aren't quite as much as in the U.S.A....But here I am to help! Glad to be useful.
Ah, I saw the location you've found in Florence for the première... that would be great! It's an amazing place. Good job Erri!
I believe it would be very "professional" if Ken, Jonathan and co. would come to launch the movie in two different cities in Italy, and we're talking of two of the most beautiful cities in the world!!!!
Think would be great... _________________ "Genius of the Restoration, aid our resuscitation!" |

I'm not sure its possible though from a finance perspective - we already have to do both UK and US
Its something I know we would all LIKE to do, but not necessarily possible

Perhaps Ken, Jonathon, Josh and the rest of the cast and crew (where practicably available) could film some sort of introduction to the film for the premieres they cannot attend?
Although this may delay the film to do this! _________________ I seem to have misplaced my red hot poker...Nevermind I will prod you with my finger until you tell me everything! |

Reck
That is actually a really good idea.
We had planned to cosntruct a documentary as well but this would be a great into for the film itself.

I think the important thing is you can count on us (not speakin' just of Erri and me, but of every soul that offers you some kind of help), that's the main thing, that you feel not alone while you work and "suffer" for and on this movie, freely and for passion.
I believe the main thing it's you feel almost touch our partecipation.
And, of course, in case you decide to come, or just to organize a "video-conference" to present your movie here, you certainly can count on us! _________________ "Genius of the Restoration, aid our resuscitation!" |
